So... this is a summer.
The heat is almost unbearable at the moment and it has been like that for the last 3 or more weeks. Sometimes temperatures rise above 30C in Frankfurt and maybe more. But they say it is not normal to have so many days with temperatures up to 35C (even 38C) and always sunny. It usually rains and cools down after a few days but this time the sun has come to stay for a while... That would be not that bad if my room was a normal room, but it is an attic and the heat concentrates up here easily, making even difficult to sleep at night (doesn't matter if I leave the window open, it is warm 24/7). Well, nothing that a cheap fan can not help to go through, hehe.
The worst thing of the heat is that it doesn't leave you much energy to do other things. I haven't been out of Frankfurt the last few weekends. The trip to Freiburg was superb and I hope to go back there soon. That Saturday I could meet my friends who came from Oxford for the Wincklemann Cup. I could see a couple of games, had lunch with them and some beers. It was great! By the way, this year the tournament's champions were the Cardiff Dragons!!! Then I spent the rest of the weekend with a friend I had gone to visit (I killed two birds with a stone). On Sunday, we took the car and had a long trip around the Black Forest. We visited a very beautiful lake called Titisee and some other awesome landscapes from the top of some mountains.
Apart from these two things, there is not much to report at the moment. I have more free time as only Tuesday evenings are busy with German lessons. There won't be any basketball until mid August. We expect a very busy summer at work though. We just knew last week that we will be moving to a new office at the end of next month. That may be a negative influence for my team and me; another thing to add to the already difficult project we have ahead. Anyway, we have got two new team members who arrived right on time and seem to be adapting quite well.
Give me a few weeks and I will be able to tell you more things about Frankfurt, ok? How about me taking some photos to show you the places I like? There are plenty in the internet, but it is not the same... Yes, I may do that.
