Frankfurt

Hace tiempo que prometí unas fotos de Frankfurt. Bueno, he ido tomando unas cuantas a lo largo de varias semanas y ya por fin me he propuesto postearlas. ¿Te vienes de paseo conmigo? Espero que las disfrutes.
Some time ago I promised photos of Frankfurt. Well, I have been taking some throughout several weeks and I have finally decided to post them. Do you join me for a walk? I hope you enjoy them.


Este edificio es la estación de tren, adonde llegas desde el aeropuerto.
This building is the train station, where you arrive from the airport.





Esto es un centro comercial cerca de mi casa con una curiosa forma, ¿no te parece? Es un agujero, literalmente.
This is a shopping centre near my place with a funny shape, don't you think? It is a hole, literally.

Algunas casas de la plaza del ayuntamiento. Parecen antiguas pero están reconstruidas. La II Guerra Mundial devastó casi todas las ciudades alemanas.
Some houses on the city council house square. They look old but they have been rebuilt. The World War II devastated almost all the German cities.


Esto es el ayuntamiento, también reconstruido. Hace unas semanas había una multitud de gente esperando a que saliera alguien (algún famoso). ¡Esperé unos minutos a ver quién era y salió Gorbachov!
This is the city council house. also rebuilt. Some weeks ago there was an expectant crowd waiting for someone to come out (some celebrity). I waited a few minutes to see who it was and Gorbachov came out!

El río Meno pasa por Frankfurt, que era el vado ("furt") que utilizaban los francos. Es navegable y desemboca un poco más allá en el Rin.
The Main river flows along Frankfurt, which was the ford ("furt") francs used to cross. It is possible to sail on it and it flows into the Rhine a bit further.

El edificio de la antigua ópera estuvo cerrado hasta hace relativamente pocos años, cuando se remodeló y reabrió. Aunque por fuera es elegante, por dentro es un teatro moderno normal.
The building of the old opera was closed until a few years ago, when they refurbished and reopened it. Although it is elegant in the outside, it is a modern normal theatre inside.


Este es un parque que solía cruzar antes todos los días para ir a trabajar y rodea el centro de la ciudad. Sigue la forma en planta de las antiguas murallas. Los parques en Frankfurt, incluso en el centro, tienen conejos.
This is a park that I used to cross every day to go to work and surrounds the city centre. It has the shape in plan of the former city walls. Parks in Frankfurt, even in the city centre, have lots rabbits.

Las oficinas centrales de Deutsche Bank. Son como de espejo y reflejan el color del cielo.
Deutsche Bank headquarters. They are made of something like a mirror and they reflect the colour of the sky.




Esto es una especie de monumento a los ejecutivos encorbatados o algo... ¿Y qué hay de las ejecutivas?
This is some sort of monument to the business men in a tie or something... And what about business women?






Esta torre estaba justo al lado de donde vivía antes. Me recuerda un poco a la corona de la Estatua de la Libertad.
This tower was right next to where I used to live before. It reminds me a bit of the Statue of Liberty's crown.

Estas torres son las oficinas centrales del Banco Central Europeo. Desde aquí se controla toda la pasta de Europa...
Those towers are the European Central Bank's headquarters. They handle the whole of Europe's dough from here...




No tengo ni idea de qué son estos edificios de forma tan curiosa pero me llaman la atención. Yo vivo por esa zona.
I have no idea about what those strangely shaped buildings are but they catch my attention. I live in that area.

Esas torres oscuras de la izquierda son de nuevo las oficinas centrales de Deutsche Bank. Al fondo se ve la torre de la televisión.
Those dark towers on the left are again Deutsche Bank's headquarters. The tv tower is at the bottom.



Algunas torres más de la city. Esa al fondo con forma de lápiz son las oficinas de la feria.
Some more towers in the city. That one at the bottom with the shape of a pencil is the offices of the fair.
